●Origins

In response to the booming of tourism hospitality industry, the Ministry of Education approved to establish Department of Hospitality Management in 2002.

●Introductions

There’re about 1,200 students and 33 full-time teachers in the department. From the beginning of its establishment, the department goes through the big environmental changes and competition of education industry. The department provides students are equipped with the academic and hospitality professional skills. Also, it provides students with global perspective and understanding of multi-culturalism.

●Programs

As time and the market change, the department current academic system includes:

◎2-year college program

◎4-year college programs

◎2-year junior college program

◎4-year industry- academia college program.

●Special Features

◎The department has well- equipped with teaching facilities. For example, Michelin cuisine R & D center, beverage and cocktail research center, internships hotel and restaurant, and 15 professional classrooms.

◎The department provides 33 excellent full-time faculties, and most of them have relevant practical experience and domestic and professional licenses.

◎The department designs four category profession-oriented curriculum, includes Chinese and Western culinary program, baking program, beverage and cocktail program and hotel program. It offers students the diversified courses selection.

◎The students are required to do one year internship in the industry, and internship units include well-known domestic companies. The department also provides students oversea internship opportunities, including Singapore, Australia, Japan and other places.

◎The department introduced the industry collaborative teaching system, and received corporate sponsorship to hold skills competitions and seminars. It also established Hospitality Education Development Center, and signed a strategic alliance with well-known companies. It provides students internships, and employment opportunities, and builds mechanisms between cooperation and academia.

◎The department helps students acquire professional licenses, win international competitions, receive recognition from the superiors, achieve career development and reach successful entrepreneurial dream. Students will develop proper characteristics, professional skills, knowledge and abilities.
