◎History
The course is designed to meet the needs of social work professionals in a rapidly changing world. The course as a four-year program will be accredited by the Ministry of Education in 2004 and will be affiliated with the school of the Social Welfare.

◎Educational Objectives
In the spirit of helping disadvantaged people, the Department educates and prepares students to work as social workers with a Christian background and ethos, and to serve the community as their long-term career.

◎School System
The degree is a 4-year bachelor program.

◎Goal
The course aims to equip students with social work skills, values and ethics, and to qualify them for professional positions within social work areas.

◎Faculty Members
The Department employs teaching specialists with Ph.D. degrees or Master degrees. Their expertise includes different fields of Social Work, Social Welfare, Sociology and related fields.

◎Facilities and Equipment
Social survey center, Case study room, Group study room, and Computing classrooms.

◎Curriculum
The course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as a professional social worker. Therefore, major study areas include Foundation of Social Work, Social Work in the Family, Social Work in Medicine and Health, Social Work with Indigenous Peoples and with Minority Groups, and Social Welfare.

◎Career Options
Graduates will be prepared for employment in a wide variety of fields. These include government, non-government organizations, education etc. If the students would like to continue their studies, they can take the entrance examination for graduate study in Social Work or related areas or apply for admission to aforeign universities.
