Tajen University has established a reputation for providing a well-trained faculty and offering continuing educational opportunities for high school as well as vocation school graduates in the Pingtung and Kaohsiung areas. A two-year junior college program, a two-year bachelor's program and a four-year bachelor's program were first launched in 1988, 1999 and 2001, respectively.

Now the night school offers a wide range of programs in Food Science and Technology, Environmental Resources Management, Occupational Safety and Hygiene, Nursing, Health Business Administration, Applied Foreign Languages, Early Childhood Care and Education, Information Management, Computer Science and Information Engineering, Restaurant and Hotel Management, Tourism Management, Recreation Sports Management, Marketing and Distribution Management, and Digital Arts and Multimedia Design. The school's primary purpose is to prepare students for careers in their fields and to provide continuing education services for working professionals who seek career advancement and/or enrichment. The curricula are well designed to prepare students to serve the evolving needs of society. All students have access to comprehensive high-tech facilities and equipments. Now Tajen enrolls over ten thousand students and has over four hundred faculty members with PhD's and Master's degrees, including many distinguished scholars.
The major emphasis of the night school's curricula is to put theory into practice in order to meet the needs of the community.
